Additive Masterbatches
Light-UV Stabilizer
UV Absorbers, which absorb harmful UV radiation, dissipating it as "harmless" thermal energy. Widely used in food products with relatively thick wall sections, such as transparent blister packaging and hollow, drug and personal care packaging, these active ingredients perform best in cosmetic tubes. Films, fibers and other products with thin cross sections will be afforded only limited protection by UV absorbers.
Light radiation and oxygen in the air trigger decomposition processes in plastics, causing discoloration, embrittlement and eventual degradation of mechanical properties. Choose CESA-light stabilizers for agricultural films, construction materials, lawn and garden equipment and many other products used outdoors or under fluorescent light and filtered daylight indoors, e.g. in visible areas where discoloration over time is not desired.
Cleaning Compound
Cleaning Compound is used to expedite the changeover from one colour to another. They achieve this through mechanical or chemical action or a combination of both. Cleaning Compounds often save money for the processor by reducing the amount of resin consumed during the changeover.
Oxo-degradable
Polymers or plastics are high molecules, and very stable and inert to normal environments. This is different types of articles. In the packaging industry, while it is important to use an important property of polymer resins to convert into many polymers for films, bottles, caps for consumer products; it can be an environment problem as the packages remain very stable after use.
In certain applications, it is desirable to enable the polymer package to be self degradable after usage for a certain period of time. This Masterbatch is a degradable Additive Masterbatch concentrate for polyethylene. It finds application in Film Extrusion process of LLDPE, LDPE, and HDPE films.
Anti-corrosive
This is an anti-corrosion Masterbatch with a neutral smell and designed for both ferrous metals and most of the non-ferrous metals. It is free from nitrite, which means that the product does not affect the working environment at film extrusion, for instance. The recommended concentration is dependent on the thickness of the film (application) and requested life length.
As a rule of thumb for a LDPE-film with a thickness of 100-150 microns recommended dosage is 3%. The anti-corrosion effect is activated approx. 12-24 hours after the film is produced. The anti-corrosion effect is dependent on the temperature - at a temperature below +5°C there will be no anti-corrosion effect.
Processing aid
This is a fluoro-based Additive Masterbatch for polyolefin designed for extrusion process. It decreases melt fracture, reduces die built up, increase transparency of film; increase process stability such as breakages can be avoided. This is added to polymer melts during the processing of polymer. Recommended dosage rate is 0.5 – 1%.
Chemical foaming & nucleating agent
Hydrocerol chemical foaming and nucleating agents from Avient Masterbatches are commonly used in consumer goods and automotive components to reduce part weight without compromising stiffness or mechanical properties. In packaging, they save material and improve productivity, while preserving aesthetic appeal.Recently developed Avient technology yields foam with smaller and more uniform cells so that processors can use 10 to 20% less plastic to create components that are visually identical to heavier, solid-walled parts. This makes Hydrocerol very attractive to companies committed to reducing the potential environmental impact of their products.
Combi batches
CESA (Additive) are also available as combibatches, which are multifunctional masterbatches that combine colour and Additive Masterbatch in a single product; delivering multiple performance enhancements, optimizing the production process, and providing an excellent cost / performance ratio.
Slip
CESA-slip lubricants improve the flow characteristics of plastics during processing. They also reduce the frictional resistance of end-product surfaces, enhancing both appearance and function. In addition, CESA-slip masterbatches can act as plasticizers and impact enhancers, as well as antiblock, antitack and antistatic agents. CESA-slip can be used in conjunction with other CESA plastics Additive including release agents and heat stabilizers.
Antistatic
Antistatic Masterbatches are formulated for use with virtually all polymers in injection molded, blow molded and extruded applications. They are easier to disperse uniformly than antistatic agents in liquid or paste form. The active ingredients of CESA-stat Masterbatches can also be combined with other Additive Masterbatchs and pigments in a single easy-to-use Masterbatch.
Anti block
Antiblocking Additive modify the surface characteristic by creating a slight surface roughness or smoother surface, thus reducing the coefficient of friction. This prevents self-adhesion of plastic film or sheet, making it easier to handle. Typical applications include polyolefin films and polyester sheets used in food packaging.
Depending on the grade specified, this Additive provides very good dispersion, optical properties and efficient antiblocking effects even at low dosing ratios.
Antimicrobial
Microorganisms such as fungi and bacteria are present in all environments, although they are invisible to the naked eye. The reproduction and growth of bacteria, fungi, mildew and molds happen rapidly on plastic surfaces.
CESA-antimicro masterbatches inhibit the growth of these microorganisms, helping to prevent unpleasant odors, discoloration, and surface degradation of plastic parts.
Antioxidant
Oxidation and heat aging are major causes of degradation of plastics. Exposure to heart and oxygen causes a chain reaction involving the formation of free-radicals, which inevitably leads to cleavage of the main chains in the polymer and degradation of the plastic. This is manifested in many different ways including loss of shine and transparency, yellowing, surface cracking and odors.
Oxidation can also result in loss of mechanical properties such as impact resistance, elongation and tensile strength. Antioxidant masterbatches are formulated to combat thermo-oxdative decomposition at every stage of the plastic life cycle, from manufacturing, drying and processing through end use. They are particularly suitable for use in LDPE, HDPE and PP.
Flame Retardant
This type of masterbatch contains 74% of flame retardant Additive Masterbatchs based on LDPE carrier (brominated Additive Masterbatch and antimony trioxyde). Thermal stabiliser is present in the formulation and product can be delivered already coloured (on request). Other grade of masterbatch is based on LLDPE, containing antimony trioxide and a chlorinated paraffin. The product is characterized also by an improved thermal stability. This masterbatch can be supplied in different shades of grey according to customer needs. It is used for fireproofing and coloring ICT electrical tubes. The amount recommended to pass standard EN 50086 - 1 (1993) is about 5 à 8 % depending on the thickness and diameter of the tube and protection required.
Viscosity Modifier
These masterbatch contain 5 and 10% of a DTBPH Peroxide. They are used to increase the MFI of PP. The dilution rate depends on the initial MFI of the PP, on the targeted MFI and on the masterbatch used.
Antifog
In food wrapping films frequent condensation of water vapour (fog) on the film surface, results in poor light transmission. In packaging films vapour condensation (fog) is visually unattractive, and the visibility of the contents is diminished. The addition of Clari-nofog masterbatches allows a formation of thin and transparent layer of water drastically increases uniform light transmission. This Additive Masterbatch is a concentrate of antifog Additive in PE/PP carrier.
Impact Modifier
Polyolefin resin has its own physical properties i.e. tensile strength, impact strength. Some application bottles, large bottles and containers require to meet the standerd drop test.
The addition of this Additive Masterbatch will improve impact properties of polyolefins and derivatives. It improves stiffness and toughness with ease of flow properties for large moulding articles.
Laser Marker
Laser Marking utilizes the energy of a highly focused laser beam to produce a combined thermal and photochemical effect. PVC, polyolefins and other polymers that are highly sensitive to laser radiation require special Additive to make Laser Marking viable. Laser maker masterbatches provide an effective solution. They also extend the limits of the technology by making it possible to mark in colors in addition to traditional gray tones.
